One of your favorite television shows has a comedic take on social distancing. A Schitt's Creek clip circling the internet represents the perfect way to care for your sick loved ones during the coronavirus pandemic.
A video from the show, which was reposted on Twitter by Amy Klobuchar's Communications Director Tim Hogan, shows the show's mother, Moira Rose, distancing herself from daughter Alexis when she comes down with the flu. As her brother, David Rose, and father, Johnny Rose, flock to Alexis' side, Moira keeps her distance and locks the adjoining door between both rooms.
"This is as far as I go, Alexis," Moira says. "One of us has to stay safe for David."
In the clip, Johnny and David seem to represent nonbelievers. The pair sit next to sick Alexis and claim everything is fine because they are in the room with Alexis and still feeling well. "See, we're still alive Moria. I think we're gonna be okay," Johnny says sarcastically.
Moria then proceeds to lock the whole family out of her hotel room.
Hogan posted with a message of encouragement for American citizens to practice social distancing. "If everyone was Moira we'd be fine," he wrote.
Social distancing is the practice of remaining six feet apart from any other people as Coronavirus spreads. Politicians, medical professionals and celebrities spent the weekend urging Americans to stay inside their own homes and avoid unnecessary contact with anyone. Still, many Americans celebrated St. Patrick's Day at bars and restaurants around the country, which some fear could have dramatically increased the spread of the virus in one weekend.
In the comments, Schitt's Creek fans responded to Hogan's message with clips of Moria that seemed relevant to the global pandemic.
